Various Weight Loss Supplements

Over the counter diet pills are readily accessible to the general public without a prescription from a doctor.  Most are available at local drugstores and supermarkets are strictly regulated by the Food and Drug Administration.

An energy supplement typically uses an assortment of vitamins and a xanthine and or caffeine based stimulant to increase one’s energy through the process of thermogensis.  Thermogenic stimulants, often used to control weight fluctuation, work by increasing the body’s metabolism rate which increases the core temperature and give users higher energy expenditures.

Other weight loss supplements include carbohydrate blockers and appetite suppressant.  Carb blockers help to block fat and keep it from being absorbed by the body (remember the rage of the Atkins diet and how people tried to eliminate carbs from their diet?).  Appetite suppressants can be a weight loss supplement intended to curb hunger and enable users to feel fuller while eating less food than they normally would.   The idea behind them is that you can still eat what you want and not gain weight because you will be eating far less.

It is always recommended that you if you use any form of diet pills, you do so in conjunction with proper exercise and a sensible diet.  Doing so will enable you to see successful lasting weight loss results.

  1. It’s good that you mentioned a healthy diet and regular exercise being an important factor in weight loss. It’s true, it is. Sure, weight loss supplements can help to speed up the process, but you need to eat right and get exercise to keep the weight off when you’ve lost it.
